Title: Windshield Glass Replacement

Are there just two types of Windshield glass? Clear or tinted, and is the tinted just tinted with a green band at the top? What was standard, or what is being used by most owners ? I have been told the SEKURIT glass is $90 extra, but that there is no discernavble diff in quality.????

My 280SL has Sekurit winshield tinted glass I am sure it has been changed and do not know the cost but if you intend to keep the car keep iit factory.

Sekurit is the historically correct manufacturer.  All my glass says Sekurit except for the windshield.

If you look at the option codes database, the codes 226, 227, 229, 593, 594, 595, 596, 597, and 598 all refer to glass options.  Check them out.
