Prompted by a posting in a different topic on license plates I looked up the web site of Hatch & Sons and noticed that they have a 280SL -3.5 for sale: http://www.hatchandsons.com/pages/sales/mercedes_benz/JB01
What engine was transplanted here? Does anyone know anything about this car/conversion?

Saw two Hatch 113 cars at the German Car show at Larz Anderson in Brookline, MA last week. I think both had 3.5s in them. Must be road kings! Hatch does nice work.

That looks like the engine from a W107 350SL

This could be the same car I viewed at Hatch in December, 2004 (same color, same year, auto, no A/C etc.). Car was a nice origional piece with 113,000 miles. They were asking $50,000.00.
