I just had a tune up and my car is cutting off after I start it. I have to give it gas to keep it runing after I start up. Once the car is warm it runs find. Can someone tell me what could be the problem. Thanks!! :(

What year model do you have? This problem may be caused by the cold engine fuel mixture being to lean or rich. What part were replaced in the tune up?

How did you get the car home? I assume it was doing this at the garage that did the tune up. If so, you should have left it there for them to fix. If not, when did it start? Did anything change between the tune-up and when this started?

No it was/is not doing this at the garage. After the car runs/warm up it will restart with no problem

My car is a 1966 230SL with 136,000 miles on it. I've only had the car a year. The parts that were replaced include new spark plug wires, points and spark plugs, distributor.]Originally posted by jeffc280sl
