hi all,
i have a question about a thread i was reading. it says that the u joints on a 280 sl (driveshaft) can't be replaced. it says the 230 can but not the 280. is this true? i'm scheduled to replace my bosses ujoints on his 280 this weekend and now i'm a little nervous! thanks in advance,

Bo,
it's true, the 280 SL u-joints can't be replaced, at least not without some modifications to the yokes. Replacement of the entire driveshaft is required. Replacement driveshafts from Driveline Service of Portland are modified so the u-joints are replacable, cost was about $450 exchange a couple of years ago.
