I am reinstalling the splash guard on my car. There is a rubber seal between the splash guard and the fender. Which way does this go on? I also have a question about the other side. Should there be some sort of sealant added between the guard and the frame components on the inside portion of the guard.

Bruce,
The splash guard seal has a slit so it fits around the guard.
My body shop installed them but I do not think they used any adhesive.

I installed the rubber seal; it is mounted from the back side of the splash guard and than is pushed around to the front of the guard. Does anyone know if any type of sealaent is used where the guard attaches to the inner frame to keep out any moisture?

Yes there was a sealant present when dismantling my car.
Located at points where splash guard contacts chasis panels at the edges.
Mine looked like bluetac which I may use on assembly.
It was put down in a bead about 6 to 10 mm wide.
Don't know if bluetac is acidic,might have corrosive properties.
Butyl mastic would be perfect but I cant source it in Australia
