I am trying to get a "barn find" 1972 280SE (108.018) back on the road. One of it's several problems is that fuel pump is totally dead, even with power applied directly to it.
I believe that this is the same pump as is used on the 113's.
If anyone has one to sell, please send me an email.
Thanks,

Yeah, That must be a Pompous Pump......
There was a nice one that went last night for less than $90...

107 Addict,
Some of the 280SEs of that era use a slightly different fuel pump arrangement from the 113 and the earlier 250SE/280SE. I'm not sure where the cutoff is on these cars, but I've crawled under a number of 280SEs looking for either a small or large style pump only to find that the pump, while a Bosch electric, is unlike either the early or late style pumps we use on the 113s.

These pumps are rebuildable and usually just need a good cleaning.. you may want to do a search here as there is plenty of info on the procedure..........
Mercedeseshop parts list the same part # for 108.018 and 113 pumps..

Thanks, all.
I am going to put a bid on the e-Bay pump, just to be sure that I can resolve the problem quickly. I am using Senior Management's side of the garage, so time is of the essence.
BTW-German Star has excellent prices on new pumps.

I have one which works which came off a 1971 280SL. Included would be a rebuild kit (gaskets and brushes) although as far as I know doesn't need them. It also Is missing two of the screws which anchor the plate which covers the impeller (? the fan like thing.) anyway, I'd sell for $85.

You should also try www.300sel.com. I purchased a rebuilt pump from them for my car with a one year warranty. Good warranty, good service, less costly than buying new. They could probably determine the correct pump for your SE, too, in the event its different from ours.

Chuck--Wish I knew beforehand you are in Falls Church, I could have loaned you one of mine and rebuilt the one you've got. I'm in Falls Church off Annandale Road near Sleepy Hollow area.
