Hi Group,
I have a nardi steering wheel, circa late 60's, and I am thinking of putting it in my 280sl. I haven't done so since I am also thinking that he 280sl looks better stock.
If I don't install it in my 280sl, i'll put it in my w123 280 coupe.
What you guys think?

I like the Nardi wheels. I never put one on mine because even the early ones restrict view of the instruments somewhat. On the plus side it makes the car nicer to drive - the smaller diameter is easier to deal with on tight corners. Some will argue that the Nardi has no impact pad, but without an airbag I belt myself tightly to prevent impact with the wheel (which is why I have never fitted the belts on a reel).

I am the opposite. I have a Nardi wheel that I do not like on my 230SL because of the dished aluminum holds the wheel a little too far from the dash.
To each his own.

JIm brings up another point. In my case it works in my favor. In order to get the right reach to the steering wheel I either have to sit with my legs slightly too cloe or to far away from the pedals. I would rather the wheel were slightly dished.

I recently made a hub to fit a flat Nardi wheel like the style used on Jaguar. The client didn't like the dished one, but is very happy with the flat one and thinks it looks great.
