Hey all,
First off like to say great forum, well done, and friendly folks !
just joined and have a few questions for original leather int cars.
Have an orig TEX interiored car ('70) and owner is changing to leather. Ive done 3 280s so far but the only leather one was perfect original and of coarse I never took pics ( Doh ! )
On the under dash pads did the factory grind off a little at the sides of the glovebox pad and adjacent ones to make up for the additional thickness in the leather. And some parts have a reveal or small ledge so to say, was the leather wrapped smooth over these reveals ? I believe they are on the windshield parts. If its easier to send a pic I can.
Thanks,
Carroll Phillips

Here's a photo of the glovebox from a nice original 280 SL with a leather interior:

Note the factory cut-out in the top right corner. (It's a 1970.)
