Hi All

There may not be many of you that take a look at SELF magazine, but I just thought I'd let you all know that there's a nice picture of my 1970 Pagoda in the March issue (Shania Twain is on the cover). The picture was taken near Malibu, CA

Just saw the photo. The car looks terrific. Congrats, Tom. It's nice to see such a nice example in a fashion shoot.

That makes two different cars from this forum used as props recently.

I decided to investigate. SELF is a women's magazine so Shania is wearing clothes. Nevertheless, women are pre-occupied also, because across the cover we can read: "Sexy-You Secrets: 6 moves for bedroom bliss". What is the world coming to.

Ok, Ok, I'll rise to the challenge. Someone please scan the page with Tom's Pagoda, and mail the resulting humongous file to me. I'll compress it and stick it on the forum!

Hi

Sorry I'm so late in replying. We're just starting another new restoration of a 1969 280SL in the shop and so I've been very busy. Obviously you've all figured out that Self is a woman's magazine which basically means it's a picture book with fashion and perfume ads. (opps, did I say that out loud? :-)

I was contacted by Tom Hanson from the classic center as he knows my 280SL and they occasionally contact him with requests for classic vehicles. It was also on the shoot for the "Italian Job" with Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron and I think , Edward Norton, but as far as I know, the shot of the car never made it into the movie.

I'm glad the picture is of interest to some and if anyone scans it in, I'd love to get a copy. That way I can send it to my family that is spread throughout various continents.

Obviously, one of the "bedroom bliss" secrets is to buy your spouse a Pagoda SL, but that's no secret to any of us!   ;)

Joel, I don't have the issue. I just saw it on a newsstand, so I'm afraid I can't oblige. I think the issue is now off the stands, incidentally. Anyone else out there who can help?
