When I step on the brake pedal to stop while moving at low speeds, I notice a grating/scraping noise. I have only noticed the noise occassionally - it doesn't seem to be there when braking from high speeds. The noise is more noticeable than at other times.
Any thoughts?

Stop! Before you grind away your rotors. If the noise is from the front you are likely down to the backing plate on the pads. They probably need replacement. I don't remember when the switch occured to rear discs, but I believe you have rear drums and you DEFINATELY don't want to run the shoes down and risk scoring the drums, they are incredibly expensive. So stop now and have them checked or get back to the board and some of the mechanics can walk you through replacement.
Best,
