And near NADA high retail. I'm selling a nice 69 to buy a 71 I've been looking at but I may have to reconsider.

Doug This eBay car may be your chance to jump back in. :D

Any predictions on final selling price? I'll guess $40,000

I think $40,000 is about right, Having a manual trans may hold it back some.

I think it may go for less and is probably worth mid $30Ks even with a manual trans.

Seems odd the reserve was met with a 30k bid. Cars much worse than that have higher reserves, especially from a dealer. Perhaps the pics don't do it justice from a neg standpoint? The drivers seat does look a little tired otherwise a very nice looking car, with many correct details.

$40,251 -- a genuine steal if photos are accurate.
Very impressed with Ken & Mike's projected price. You were both right and auctions are generally pretty difficult to guess.

And, one of the greatest finishes of an Ebay item I've ever seen! I had been watching the bidding closely -- especially the last few minutes. (Kept hoping Zanone would jump in at the last second)... oh well, it sure is a looker. Maybe the lucky guy will show up here.

I almost bid, Bob Possel was going to bid for me at the last second but I felt like some of the high bidders that had zero feedback and no items ever purchased might have been shill bidders driving up the price.

As the seller of this car I can assure you these bids were real, many of them were from individuals I had spoken with on the phone over the past week. I had a tremendous amount of emails and phone calls on this car, many of them had been looking for a model with this color, transmission and condition for a very long time. The car is every bit as good as it looks in the photos, and the bidding reflected that. It was a real treat to market this car!

Congrats, it is a nice car and looks like the winner got a good buy. I'm sure they will follow through.

Douglas:
Nothing holds a candel to the 280SL you sold.
