I have noticed some talk on plug wires in the past but want to get a current consensious. At a stop sign or red light (auto trans in gear, foot on the brake, car not moving) I get a slight "stutter" from the engine. Just for laughs, I pulled into the garage the other night, left the car in gear with the parking brake engaged (yes, I tested this process first; yes, I left the overhead door open part way) to simulate what is happening on the road. With all the lights off and hood open, I had a nice little bluish-white light show going on. No big sparks, just series of short dim ones. I am assuming that a new plug wire set would be in order. What brand/suppliers are suggested? While not a concours car, I do want to eliminate this bothersome problem.

Gernold Nisius at SL Tech I believe still sells wire sets that are original-spec.
correction: I just checked SL Tech's website and they are now no longer available
If you look through the Technical Articles (ignition) or do a search on this topic, you are bound to come up with a lot of information.
Neat test - must do the same one of these days, although I don't have a stutter ;-)

Kevin....you car should run BETTER than the average Concours car as most of them JUST SIT. Bosch is what I have on my car -- was just tuned professionally -- idles perfect. I believe that Bosch is OEM.

Mine are Bosch. Copper-core. 7mm. Ultra-something. Seem to work very well.
