Title: toroughly?
Post by: KevinC on December 04, 2005, 11:15:41
I noticed this sticker in my soft top compartment the other day. There are no other aftermarket stickers anywhere on the car so I don't think a previous owner installed it.

Does anyone else have one like this with "throughly" mis-spelled? My mother's family is from french-speaking Canada so I didnt pick up on it at first. ;)

Hello Kevin. I also have 1967 230 SL.  One of us must have an aftermarket softtop compartment sticker. Mine is very different looking from yours and is spelled correctly, so I am guessing that mine is probably the one that is not original but it does look like it's been there a while. I have no idea. But I can say there is another kind of sticker that does have all words spelled correctly.

Kevin,

My '64 has what I believe is the original sticker, all other stickers are original as well.  It is spelled Toroughly on mine as well.  Go figure.

I've seen some funny typos in translation on Italian cars from the era too.
