That's really cool, both as a car and being one of 4.
Odd set up - US headlights and bumper riders but no side markers
I suppose it reflects Icelands position somewhere between Europe and North America!
Welcome aboard

U.S. side markers were not required until the 1968 model year.  Thus no 230SLs were produced with U.S. style side marker lights.  The marker lights and other U.S. safety reg mandated interior changes phased in during the 250SL production.  Thus early U.S. delivery 250SLs have 230SL style fittings, while later U.S. delivery 250SLs appear more like a 280SL.

Great to have Iceland represented on this forum. Warm welcome to you!
One suggestion: you may want to consider painting the rocker panels (the strip of body metal below the doors) flat black, rather than body color (silver in your case) - it makes the car look more lithe and slender.

A fantastic looking vehicle!!  Do you ever have a beer with the other three owners in your country??
It's a beautiful car and a beautiful country, too!

So often, the summers here are awesome. We have about 10-25
c from beginning of mai until beginning of september, then I wipe the dust of my hardtop. Iceland is really green, but Greenland is really white....strange, isnt it ;)

Fault of the Vikings, isn't it?  Or is that a myth that they were trying to play a trick on invaders, enticing them to invade "Green" land and stay away from "Ice" land?
