Title: Frigiking a/c
Post by: terry shores on November 11, 2005, 18:10:24
About to pick up my newly restored 71 280sl.  The Frigiking A/c works fine but the vents look a little less than desirable.  It appears to me that they are plastic with a chrome color coating.  Just a guess though.  Does anyone know how to make the vents look original??  Do they pop out? What are they made of? Etc. Etc.

Thanks,
Terry

Hi Terry -- I had the same issue a while back, and Ed Cave was kind enough to put me in touch with his restorer, who in turn led me to a fellow in Michigan that replates plastic.

He did a terrific job on my two sets of Frigiking A/C vents for reasonable price.

If you'd like the particulars e-mail me off-line and I'll get that contact info for you.
