Hi All!,
:?: Which way are your coolant lines connected to your injection pump's heat feeler? This picture shows the top connection running into the engine block. On my car, the bottom connection runs into the engine block.
Which way does yours connect?
Which way should they connect?
 Stumped on this one?
Thanks!
Bob

I doubt that it would make much if any difference? The water just runs around the thermostat element in the FI pump, right?

The difference is the geometrics of the metal lines to the placement of the rubber hoses .. put on the wrong way will put undue stress on the hoses....

Hello All!
I wanted to revive this old post on the correct routing of these hoses on the IP. The attached pic is my engine, showing how my lines are currently routed. I have seen many pics of engines over the past couple of years and it seems they all vary. What I have noticed is that prior to 1970, it seems the hose going to the engine block was on top.
What is the correct routing of these hoses? How is yours routed?
Comments?
Thanks!
Bob

Bob,
Perhaps the difference is whether or not the engine has that extra casting bolted to the head: engines with the casting, top hose to block; engines without, bottom hose to block? Mine has the casting, top hose to block.

Bob,
Mine is an early 250 and the top hose from the thermostat on the FI pump routes to the engine block.
