Anyone know how these plates were attached (both front and rear) to the car?
I'm finishing off my project 230SL and need Euro plates attached.
I imagine there's an OEM plate or bracket to attach, U.S. plates have attachment holes, whereas Euro plates don't.
Looking for a better grade holder than what I have found (plastic and cheap looking).
Does any of you in the European countries have a source for these items?

I've been looking for a high quality euro frame for a while now with no luck. The nicest frame I have seen to date was on a red 190sl that is posted on the sportsleicht website. Most of which I have found are the cheap plastic type.

Europlates are mostly framed in chromed frames that consist of three parts: an upper and under rim and a strip at the back to attach the parts and plates to the bumper. Last Sunday I saw them priced for 17.50 Euro.

Here is a picture of my European frame on my 190SL. (http://www.190slgroup.com/tech/pics/det_24.jpg)
It should be a standard part. If interested, check with Ron Rapp at http://190slparts.com/ item #50-53.

Tom,
I might have a few of these metal plate holders from my European trips. Let me look into my tag collection and see what I have. Will get back to you tomorrow.

Hello Tom,
I have four tag holders and one is a genuine bent one in the middle just like the bumper in front, the other 3 are the flat ones for the rear, but can be bent. Contact me off list if you are interested. My email is waltklatt@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Walter
