Title: How many clips per wheel cover?
Post by: Douglas on October 11, 2005, 16:33:14
I have a late-model 280 SL and was wondering how many retaining clips are recommended per cover.

Thanks.

my 70 280SL has 4 clips per wheel cover.... more might not be a bad idea....  i had one come off after hitting a piece of firewood from the truck in front of me....

My original caps ( heavy type) had four clips each.  My new caps were delivered with four for each one.

Hello Doug and Bob,
Yes according to the dealer's parts book a total of sixteen required (four per wheel).
