Having recently accepted a job in the automobile industry allows me a couple of nice perks, one is that I can read car magazines at my desk the other is that I can put pictures of cool cars up all over my office without getting weird looks.
In that vein, I needed something to compliment the w113 Pagoda Group poster on my wall. I have been looking for a nice Pagoda picture. During my search of the web I ran across a site of a young artist from Colorado named Travis Smith. He's an incredibly talented artist who specializes in automotive art. The gullwing painting on his site really caught my eye.
On a whim, I emailed him for a quote on commissioning a painting of my car. He said he could do it from a photograph. Being in Washington DC and dealing with Congress a lot I asked if he could put the US Capitol in the backgroud...he said "No Problem" and quoted me a very reasonable price and I gave him a deposit. A few days later I had a sketch emailed to me, approved it and waited for the final product. A few weeks later my painting arrived and for about half cost of a new set of visors, I have a one-of-a-kind painting of my car to admire everyday.
Check out his site at www.tsautoart.com He's a talented guy as you can see from the the picture of my car on his site.
By the way, I have no interest in his business other trhan being a satisfied customer.
