Title: Engine Cleaning Question
Post by: mrfatboy on September 25, 2005, 18:19:50
My 280sl engine is filthy. In the pass, I have had a pro steamer clean it. Recently, I bought a pressure washer 1650psi for doing everyday household stuff. Can I use the pressure washer maybe in combo with a decreaser?

my opinion is simple green, a soft brush and a slow rinse....  i wouldn't run the pressure washer in the engine compartment....  why push all that pressurized water where you don't want it? cover distributor, coil, relays and fuse box with plastic bags - i'm guessing you'll get most of the dirt out this way and not risk water damage to electrics and linkages...
