Title: Engine brace
Post by: Raymond on September 21, 2005, 13:34:59
It's embarassing to admit I have a part left over from an engine install, but there it is.  It is an engine brace and I can't figure out where it goes.  I don't remember removing it four months ago, but I must have.  Anyone recognize this?

I have air conditioning and the donor engine was from an SE.  My car did not have a little shock absorber mounted where the A/C bracket attaches and the SE engine did.  I think this is from my car, but where does it attach?

It attaches to the manifold. The front section should have a threaded hold the other end goes to a bracket under the top of the engine to the AC unite.

Hello Ray,

On the sedans this brace goes from the bottom of the AC ccopressor to the motor mount bolt. Not sure about the SLs.  I am in agreement with Bob that it would be an AC compressor bracket on the W113s also.
