Hi All,
:) I recently replaced the 4 prong relay for my cold start valve (CSV). This is shown with the blue circle around it.
There is another 4 prong relay (circled in red) that looks like it is the same relay as the CSV relay? It sits next to the 2 black speed relays.
 Does any one know what the function of this relay is?
Is it the same relay, same part number???? :?:
See attached picture.
Thanks all!
Bob

Bob, Have had a bunch of FI 111 bodies. No two were wired the same. They had 1 and 2 solenoids on the FI pump, thermo time delays, Temp sensors, CSV, yada, yada. The manuals showed different wiring diagrams for the same basic relay and solenoid setup. MB was looking for the right combo!! Does the fuse box cover give any clues? Usually they refer to what functions are there. As I remember each relay had a good chance of being on a different fuse.

Bob,
Do you have external driving lights?
How many solenoids (if any) on the FI pump?
Is there air-con?
It could be the same part number but there were 5 prong relays that looked the same.
MB often changed the relay configuration when they changed the FI pumps.

The relay in question has 4 prongs. I do not have fog lights, but do have air conditioning. I have 1 solenoid on the FI pump.
The relay in question has no external markings... worn off throught the years.....
Thanks!

Hello Bob,
This is a "working current relay" and is part of the USA emissions for the timing on your 280SL. Refer to page 00-76/3 in the BBB.
