I did a Search and found 14 threads that mention wood shift knob.  I read several, no product details or pictures.

Google finds a lot of them for sale on eBay and a number of other sites.

Hi Doug!

It certainly was not standard on either the automatic or manual… that’s not to say people have not fit an aftermarket one which might’ve been available at the time or someone has custom fit one today.

Authentic Classics carries the black and ivory plastic shift knobs for both automatic, 4-speed and 5-speed.

Try these guys for a custom wood one to your liking.

They were an accessory aftermarket item sold by Hanns in California back in the day. They must have been fairly popular, although not original. They were wooden with a metal porcelain enamel on the top.
