Sead,

I assume for LHD car?

Did all 230SL have "flash to pass" feature?  I remember being able to pull the stalk towards me to flash the brights.

Thanks

The switches were all set up for flash-to-pass, but the feature did not work on many 230SLs destined for the U.S. market.  Mine didn't when I acquired it in 2003.  However somewhere on this site (or one of its predecessors) there were simple instructions involving doing something with a taped wire on the rear of the fuse block.  I don't remember exactly the procedure (it was a couple of decades ago) but my flash to pass has worked ever since.

There is something on this in the Technical Manual under Electrical/Lights/Light switch, then scroll down to Flash to Pass.

My switch works but the plastic shell is broken. Can you replace that?

John,
Sead can do it!

Mike,
My Italian delivery car has it, it works, but it's a very firm pull of the stalk!  My stalk needs restored.

Sead,
I was curious if this specific unit was wired for it.  I could send mine as a core exchange to reduce the cost.  Or, someone else could buy this and I send mine to be restored and returned.

Mine's a little stiff, too, but I have always thought it as nicely weighted, in keeping with the solid as a bank vault feel of the rest of the car.

Your's is a little stiff, I felt like I was going to break mine every time I used it.  Mine also has issues with signaling L and R.

Its same for both, LHD and RHD. For 250/280 I have different plastic parts as symbols are placed differently.
