Is there a way to sort search result by date of posting?
Often I'm trying to find something that I know I've seen recently but if my search criteria gets a lot of hits I can get pages of results in random order.
eg: search "authentic classics"
I saw a post recently about the nylon anti-scratch pads for window felt clips but cannot find it. (need to find the part number but cannot find it on EPC).

Hello Colin, the only way i know is to use the search button next to the tech manual button
You can then use the "search order" drop down list - "most recent posts first"
You can also set the parameters if you need to, but i can't see the benefit - "message age" - 0-??? days
I found this recent post, don't know if it's what you were thinking

Thanks Bob, that resolves the search function issue but the post you refer to isn't the one I was looking for and my new search with my new knowledge doesn't find it either!

Colin,
Try the top right search button but set it for entire forum then just put in Authentic Classics and it will give you all their posts.

is the is the post you looking for Colin?
-oops yeah this is same as Bob posted above! duh

No Charles, that's the same post Bob referenced above.
Perhaps I imagined it ;D
I'm trying to find the part number for the anti-scratch nylon pieces on the clips that hold the window felt to the door.
Maybe I saw the thread on a facebook post.....?

I was looking for this pads wherever I could and I did not find these parts...
Wanted to help but I have no idea what I am looking for... never heard of them.

Pawel,
I think what Colin is looking for are the nylon inserts that go in between the chrome piece at the top of the door in the front part where the glass runs through. They help keep the metal chrome piece from scratching the glass when you roll it up and down.
I don't have the EPC so I could not look it up and I know you are a search guru Pawel. Hope this helps.

Thank you, but those are generally known and Colin would not have an issue finding them in the EPC...
I think they may not be just anti-scratch pads, by the way, I understand they have another more important role - they are guides/anti rattle small clever devices.
I think it was about pads for the window brush felt clips (whichever side, inner or outer), but I do not think they exist, at least for W113. I did not see the post Colin is referring to, but I think it might have been someone's modification/idea to avoid heartbreaking scratching of the paint during installation. Seems to me they are far enough from the glass to cause scratches there.

Thanks gents for you inputs.
As Pawel says, if it was on EPC I would find it.
Just because I've been doing this for 44 years doesn't mean I know everything. Take the little plastic bungs in the seats for example!
I must draw the conclusion that I imagined it. :o
