Got a new set of Coker Phoenix tires today plus full alignment. Car drives noticeably better!
Noticed the white walls are slightly wider than the Hankooks that were previously on the car.

Len, the car and tires look great. Beautiful in the sunshine. Happy to hear you gas cap saga turned out well. Happy motoring!

Such a interesting picture. My 230sl which is 571 Metallic Red looks so similar, and also has Coker Phoenix tires, an acceptable replacement for the original Phoenix Aktiengessellschaft, Hamburg West Germany manufacturer. A little trivia, I have kept a original Phoenix in the car as the spare for authenticity. (I do also carry an appropriate spare in case)
looks good!

I can't tell the difference. Great looking car with any tire.

The difference is probably 5/8" to 3/4" or .125" difference, easier to spot the difference in person than on a computer screen.

I’m sure you’re right but when my car was driven around the shop’s parking lot I noticed immediately. When it’s your baby, your eye is drawn to even the slightest differences.

Computer 🖥 ?!?!?!!
I'm 99% phone based. So, much smaller screen. 😀

As shown on the attached label of tires I purchased from Coker, it appears the whitewall is "9/16"
And simply for fun reading, I am also attaching the letter I got from Phoeniz Aktiengeseilschaft when I was trying to find Phoeniz tires.
