Title: 230SL Sway Bar on 280SL
Post by: Benz280 on June 07, 2025, 01:45:39
Performed this swap. Found a perfect 230SL sway bar and purchased 230SL bushings.
Pleased to report the car corners much tighter and the frontend feels very good.
Entire process took 1hr.
Wonder why MB made the change.

My belief is it was to satisfy the expectations of the American market, and Mercedes slowly gave up the idea of the SL being a sports car.

. . . I'll go ahead and plug here that I have one of these bars for sale . . .

And if you want even better handling, use urethane bushings on the sway bar. Pm me if interested.
