Title: Hardtop garnish rail bolts?
Post by: waltklatt on May 30, 2025, 02:24:22
Hello all,
Stumped by this one....
Disassembled the spare hardtop from a 1963 230SL.
Took it all apart and now want to fit the two garnish rails, previously had none.
The parts book says M 5x10 DIN 7987.
Meaning they are stainless steel, but my question is the head shape?  Pan head?  countersunk head with washer?

Does anyone have an original one to show a picture of?

Thanks,
Walter

Thank you Bob, that solves the problem with the countersunk thing.  Using a rubber washer works well.
Will heads to the hardware store for the M 5x10 fasteners.

Thank you Pawel, will use some urethane silicone sealant.
