Hi folks
Has anyone repaired or had experience of repairing their cigar/cigarette lighter by any chance?
I’ve had the ‘holder’ tested and that’s all fine, but for some reason the element of the lighter doesn’t heat up?
I know new ones are available, but a Bessie is an early 230sl, I like the more ‘delicate’ push button, and these appear not to be available.
Any thoughts on what to do would be greatly received 🥰

Hi,
Sometimes it's possible to change/unscrew the glow filament which is standard for a lot of lighters.

Brilliant
Thank you all. 🥰
Must admit I’m not sure mine has one of those, I only see a coil of ‘spring’. Maybe that’s why it doesn’t work! 😱
Might someone have a picture of what the lighter should look like so I can compare?
Many thanks again
Katie
I’ll investigate

When you push it in, you'll have access to unscrew the coil.

Thank you
Had a look and Bessie’s was loose and a little rusty. Going to try and clean it up and screw in tightly to see if that works
Fascinating, I never knew the little heating element came off! 😝

With thanks to all kind folks who replied.
Lighter now fixed!!!
Got my ever faithfull Dremel out and cleaned up all connections as there was quite a lot of corrosion. Heater element screwed down securely, now all working 😎
