I would appreciate a recommendation for glue to use to reattach my carpet in the luggage/package area. Thanks!

When my buddy and I installed new carpet in his 250 SL, we used a DAP product called Weldwood. The product in the red-bottomed can is what we recommend. You may need to get creative to get some, as it is a solvent based formula. We were able to find in SoCal, but we did have to search around.

I have used Weldwood glue too. Also 3M makes a good glue that is in spray can.

We did use some of the 3M glue, but found that the Weldwood was better for the bent and curved areas.

Go for the heat-resistant and water-resistant variety

x3 on the Weldwood Landau Top & Trim HHR Solvent Type Spray Grade Contact Adhesive. After I did a bunch of research, found this was what many professional upholstery shops use - I used it to replace the headliner on my Bronco II and it came out perfect:

My sincere thanks to all... will try the Weldwood and will post "after" photos.
