Title: 1966 230sl rear axle pinion shaft

Reinstalling the pinion nut on the front of the rear axle and noticed quite a bit of play in the pinion gear shaft. I've not been able to find what the runout is in any of the manuals I have, does anyone know what the tolerances are???                                                                                                                                        So I can't believe know one out there has any input on this subject. I'm pretty confident in my ability to do the work I just need to be lead in the right direction. I've already pulled the axle shaft and housing now looking at part of the ring gear. I don't want to go any farther without more information. I'm looking for tear down and rebuild schematic's, or to someone I can speak to.
