Title: New Carpet Protection Coating?
Post by: NlkO on April 15, 2025, 07:11:13
I will be purchasing a new multiloop carpet for my car soon. Is there a coating that can be put on to protect it from sun/dirt and to make it last longer? I drive the car as a convertible 100% of the time.

I have used Guardsman silicone spray, I used to sell it in my old carpet business, I believe it is now available in an aerosol can. It won't help with wear but will keep any stain away from the carpet yarn until you clean the carpet . There are various Guardsman sprays, you need Guardsman fabric spray.

Had rubber mats cut for foot wells, resembling the rubber mats of the 230SLs. When I’m riding, mats are in, when I get to a show, mats are out. Keeps the floor carpet pristine. And no it does not look like a Ford truck. Many members are using the Coco Mats, which in the 60s and 70s were the fashionable mats for European sports cars.
