Hello,
Looking to top up the oil level in the injection pump. I have no idea what the capacity is, so don't know how much oil to start with - don't want to overfill. At least if I know the capacity, I can put a little english on the amount I put in....
thanks -- Roger
engine is a 250

The pump should have a dip stick to verify the correct amount. Somewhere here is the procedure to check for the correct amount.

Thanks. I looked at the dip stick to note that I was a bit low. It is pretty hard to effectively read the dip stick, since getting it in and out is awkward at best, and that could certainly affect the reading.
I put in about 3 caps of oil into the fill area, and it seems like the level is good (or as good as one is able to determine).
I would certainly recommend that the injection pump level be checked periodically, as a failed injection pump is likely a pretty dear repair.

Also,
I was told to measure the oil level with the dip stick only resting on the opening. (not screwed in). I have seen a post here that says to screw it all the way in to check the level on early 230's.

Have a look towards the bottom of the page for checking the oil level

Actually, seems you need to be a full member to access this page, the tips and pictures were taken from a post on here so you may find it if you search

Yup, there are also two different opinions on whether or not to screw it in. If I remember correctly, it is also described in the BBB. I will have a look later.
