I found this listing on Facebook Marketplace and just for kicks (does anyone still say that?) I thought I would share it here . It is being sold in the town next to where I live. My 1st impression is that it was someone's attempt to create a pagoda from a sedan. Sort of a Frankenstein 280SE/280SL. I don't think there are any SL parts in this creation. Lots of time spent toward a dead end.

I'm selling my Mercedes W114 250 project. 7 years ago, this car was found in Washington in operational condition with 82000 miles(white car on pictures) .It was build in 80's by Mercedes mechanic . It is a really unique body style. This vehicle was four doors w114 model originally. The entire front was moved to the rear. The steering column and all necessary components were extended. This car is actually operated from the back seats. Euro headlights and bumpers with new rubbers included in this sale/!There is green 1976 Mercedes w115 also included in this sale

It's a mystery to me why people spend valuable time and good money doing really stupid things. What purpose could this have possibly served? Let's say it was completely finished. Then, what is it and why, and why doesn't any other old used car fit the bill?
There are plenty of fully completed oddball low volume cars out there if you want to make a statement; they take little effort just a purchase.
But travel the highways and byways of America and you'll see all kinds of useless junk, unfinished projects, littering the front and back yards...things like this.
Nice find Frank.

Kind of incredible. So bad it's good. Obviously, I'd never subject a car to this punishment...
Reminds me of the backwards French cars from Michel Gondry's Mood Indigo...
