Do all 280SL have a 9.5 comression rating ?

No. The cylinder head on my November 1970-built 280SL shows 9.0. I have seen several heads like this from this production period. Heads on cars delivered to the U.S. at that time do not show the compression ratio anymore. It has been said that Mercedes changed it but did not want to publicize it.
