Title: Bushing Replacement for Manual Transmission Shifter Linkage
Post by: Mauricio P on February 01, 2025, 23:06:33
All,

In the event this comes up for anyone, here are some details for replacing shifter linkage bushings for a 67 250SL, 4 speed.
Straight forward replacement and can be done from inside the car.

Thanks

Shouldn't this just be put in the tech manual?  Nice job, by the way.

Hey, I’m new to the group chat. Would it be a bushing issue when the reverse gear is missing? I was driving and suddenly I could not find reverse and the stick shift was very loose and sloppy. There are no grinding noises in the transmission. All gear 1 to 4 are fine but sloppy and no reverse. Help.

Hello Dave, welcome to the group

It certainly sounds like the bushes are shot, have a look on the post below, same symptoms, and if you need any more tips, just use the search function above left, search for "shifter bushes", or just bushes, or just shifter
