I am bringing my 1970 280SL to South Florida next week. The car is about 90% complete - Need someone to finish. Needs electrical and interior to be completed. I have all the parts and materials.
I am located in Palm Beach County

While not in South Florida, there is also Pierre Hedary in Titusville who is an expert in classic Mercedes-Benz. He has done great work on my pagoda as well as my 560 SL.

Thank you - I will reach out to both!!

Unique Cars of Palm Beach - Freddy Genatios a good friend of the group. Impeccable work.
-
Both are great referrals. Pierre took my 230SL in a few years back and did an incredible job finishing up a mechanical restoration that included a complete engine rebuild from Metric Motors. I could not be happier.
-
Anyone else here in Florida that can work on these cars?
-
Can't stand Pierre tbh. He was really abrasive when I asked about an axle rebuild. That is no comment on his work, which may or may not be great, but the attitude was unprofessional.
The Pagoda owners I've known in Florida (aside me) all sent their cars to Bud's Benz up in Douglasville, GA. The results certainly look nice.
This group (and myself) has had bad experiences with Palm Beach Classics, FYI, in case they were a consideration.

Thank you for your input - Much appreciated

Have you heard anything about The Palm Beach Garage?

I will agree, I know David personally, owner of Bud’s Benz, he has been to many of the events at Blacklick, Williamsburg, Charlottesville, etc, will treat you right and his parts guy is great.

As said in a PM but posting here for the benefit of all -- a friend I really trust in Palm Beach said PB Garage is pretty good, certainly the "safest" place locally. Though he sent his car to Bud's (since it has a history there).

I have used European Starr Auto, 5705 Jason Lee Pl (off Clark Road) in Sarasota since buying my 1969 280SL some 3 years ago. I cannot speak highly enough of their expertise and professionalism. They are also a pleasure to deal with. Contact the manager, Joe Serrano on 941-809-4434.

The collector car and classic car restoration business is a tough one. It seems that for every satisfied customer, there’s a dissatisfied customer. Pierre Hedary took the time to drive to my house, 3 hours away, to evaluate my 230Sl before he took on the job. He’s incredibly busy. There are not many out there who know more about the MB lineup of cars than Pierre. That being said, I can also vouch for European Star Auto in Sarasota. Best of luck with your restoration.
