Definitely not for me!

That is a waste of a W113 chassis !

:(

I think the owner should be prosecuted.

I guess it's just a body, not a chassis... and who knows how much of it is original. Theoretically a lot of that could just be reproduction panels and trim.
Imagine someone stepping on that weird side skirt. I do admit, I have wondered what an air dam would have looked like on a car like ours but . . . better-designed. I do recall seeing some front spoilers on some R107 Euro cars that resembled some off of the W113 concepts (where the under-bumper fog lights would typically be installed).
Here's an idea from 5 seconds in photoshop.

That’s what the “builders” and “makers” show at SEMA. By the hundreds. They do it to everything—no marque is spared.

YUCK'. A travesty indeed . That poor 280 SL.

Not really much worse than electrifying one. ::)

I watched that video a few times. Other than the ground effects I like it. If it gets the younger generating talking about Pagodas - I see it as a good thing.
The metal work around the wheels was nicely done as the level of work on the rest of the car. (Its missing the hood strap to keep a Gas Jocky from bending the hood accidentally when they go looking for the dip stick).
At that level, the actual original Mercedes pagoda ceased to exist long ago and now its just a shell on a SLK55 AMG.
The firm S Klub has built some 300SLs also on the SLK55 chassis. That SLK55 seems like the perfect start to a new toy.
In the early 80's I bought a 66 Jaguar MK11 with the aim of recreating a D type. I joined the local Jaguar club, started hanging out with a couple guys who were doing the same thing and quickly realized I didn't have the skills or funds to do a good job. Took until 2005 to finally give up on the dream....

I keep seeing this advertising video for IHG hotels on United inflight screens. It’s a bit disturbing: an emerald green W113 with an anonymizing grill and modified (by CGI?) headlights…

Got to love Reddit, and the quote ‘Katie Shuford, a spokesperson for IHG, said that the car is a “custom concept car that we designed specifically for the ad.” ‘ - so much for that whole Paul Bracq thing, it was IHG all along!
