Dear friends
As I see you read all my custom wiring projects, here after I describe one I just completed for a famous restorer in France on his customer request.
Apart from the usual stuff I do always this one requested some special things:
- Master & Slave door locks. This a simple system that allows you to open or close both doors locks by actuating on the driver lock cylinder. If you insert your car key on driver door cylinder and open the lock, the passenger door lock will open at the same time. Also if you push a buttom on a key fob remote provided both doors will lock/unlock
- Hidden magnetic kill switch. Many of you have commented that do not thrust, at all, into an alarm system since they are prone to failure; which in my opinion, is most of the time related to a low quality installation. Nevertheless, this time the customer wanted a way to protect his car so we came up with the idea of a magnetic switch somewhere.
This is a switch which is more than hidden that activates a signal when you place a magnet over it. So we decided, in honor to the recent re-inauguration of NOTREDAM Church, to buy a small refrigerator magnet to place somewhere in a notorious place in the car, and behind it, is the magnetic activated switch.
This switch is a Normally Open one, and when closed by magnet action, it sends a ground signal to an array of original mercedes relays that in place take some actions.
One relay activates the fuel shutoff selenoid at injection pump. The other relay activates the low fuel reserve dashboard light. Both relays only draw power when ignition switch is on the run position. So this configuration will not deplete your battery when your car is sleeping. User will know that system is enabled when low fuel reserve light is on once ignition key is turned to run position.
For a burglar it is very difficult to resolve what is happening with the car that does not start; since fuel pump will be running, you will have spark, but car will not keep running. He may think is a matter of low fuel. It may start, with fuel available in injection lines, but car will stahl immediately.
So this is an ingenious way of protecting your car. - AC system. Customer also added the harness ai specially developed for pagodas to run on a modern AC system, with all the control logic of a W109-6.3 with some other add ons.
- Stereo system. Customer added a very nice French FOCAL amplifier/speaker configuration paired with a retrosound.com head unit. It had some particulary high energy demands so the main harness was modified accordingly. So branches for headunit, amplifier and power antenna were added to main harness.
- USB charging points. User wanted USB charging points at central wood console and in the dashboard.
- Fridge /freezzer . This was also added in the trunk area, and a large 3mm2 line was embedded into rear harness. Fuses for this line and the one that feeds the stereo amplifier were installed on the driver side fender at the engine bay area.
So this was a great project that I enjoyed so much. Share with your friends

Bravo! 👍Well done

This setup sounds pretty cool.
A fridge/freezer in the trunk tells me that either this car will be used for longer outings or trips to the owner's favorite fishing hole.

Sounds like really excellent work -- glad to have you doing this kind of thing in our community, Leonardo.

What an interesting project completed to your usual high standard.

Nicely done!🤙

Beautiful!
Do I see correctly? You both crimp and soldier the female spade connectors?
-
Well done yet again Leo, i love the fridge magnet idea

Dear Pawel
So long without talking to you…. Yes I always crimp with a special tool and solder terminals just to have a perfect long lasting connection.
Thanks for your nice comments.
