Title: How to reinstall the blower back into the dash?
Post by: CJHenderson on September 13, 2024, 19:28:00
I have tried to reinstall the blower back into the dash with no luck. I have only the heater core installed and nothing else. I have gone the extra step by removing the end caps from the blower body and tried it that way.

Scroll to the bottom for removal steps.  Maybe there is a clue there?

Was on that page twice today but my problem is trying to install the blower case back under the dash but when I try to get the two upper attachment to line up I can't regardless how I maneuver it will not align.

Did you see this post?, there's a link to a good description, although the translation is slightly dodgy

That's a great link and PDF attachments from WRe.  Good find, BobH.

Still can't get the blower to align. Do I need to remove the fresh air flaps?

I have just re-installed the blower on my 280. I found i HAD to install it with the end caps already attached. The end caps are too difficult to bolt on with the blower installed. I found I had to remove the insulation on the tunnel to allow enough clearance to slide the blower in from the left hand side.

Sorry that I did not respond sooner but I was on vacation and my iPad was giving me some problems. My question, is your Pagoda a RHD since I see that you are from Australia? Did you have to remove the fresh air flaps?

Finally installed the blower after WhiteBlue recommended that I remove the insulation from the tunnel, which I did and then I was able to barely slide the blower in. Hopefully I won't have as much trouble with the rest of the dash installation.

Well done ! It sounds as if we are at the same stage in re-assembly. Not having been involved in the disassembly I am finding this a fascinating conundrum.
