Hi guys, I’m seeking wheel cover clips for the aluminum “steel” wheels, p/n is 1234000027 (NLA from the Classic Center).
These differ from the standard clips as they have a small Teflon insert to prevent scratching the wheels. I was not overwhelmed with those clips currently available on eBay.
Let me know what you’ve got.
Thank you.

If you find a deal on these I need a full set as well. To be honest I haven't looked for any but my tires are getting old and it would be nice to get a new set of shoes installed on my aluminum steelies I have sitting in the attic.

Have you checked the Classic Center? Are they still available, or NLA?
Most recently I needed a part, a pressure sensor for the automatic transmission 001-542-13-17. Some very used ones, fitting the description of "not overwhelmed" on eBay were listed for more than I paid for new. Another eBay listing for new, from Latvia (as IF I'd ever order parts from Latvia!) is still listed today at close to $500.
I bought the part NEW from the CC for $258.40.
So, always pays to check the Classic Center...particularly when there are proprietary OEM parts needed.

Thanks, Mike. I neglected to mention in my initial post that this part is officially NLA from MBCC.

Hi Michael,
Do you have a link to the classic Center you speak of?
Both links under Parts in the technical manual are dead.
I’m looking for the side drip moulding joiners on the hardtop and I’m struggling to justify $90 USD a piece (a lot in AUD) on Authentics website.
Doug.

I didn't know these even existed, or may have existed.
Lets us know if you track some down as I would also like to purchase some.
Cheers

Hello, don't forget these aluminium wheels were not available for W113's, they were made for later sedans and possibly SL's from the 80's, so don't search for W113 hubcap clips, as you won't find the later ones with plastic inserts. I've also read that the newer clips can be loose, some owners just use tape on the original clips to make them fit tighter and stop scratching the alloy

A member here must have had the last ones available as I fitted some to his car just a year or so ago and they were bought direct from MB.

Mine are tight as a drum. No issues.

I got mine from Authentic Classics. They were not inexpensive but they do work on the aluminum steelies. I would also try Nelson at Vintage Euro parts. Even if VEP doesn’t show them on their website they may still have stock.

Hope you find what you need, and if anyone is looking, I have several of these alum wheels for sale. Keith
