The corners of the aluminum trim are a little "loose", i.e., trim not fully seated in the rubber seals groove. I read in our site tech manual section this could cause a whistling effect and I was unable to find any hints here for solving this problem - I've tried silicone and clamping but just can not get those four corners to seat nicely on the inside edges. Hoping someone could help me out. Just FYI, I am dealing with a new windshield, new rubber seal and old aluminum trim piece (as it came off this car) which I have not damaged in terms of correct shape. All are MB parts, and this is a '68 280SL.

I had a similar problem with my molding. The windshield guy I used, tried multiple times to correct it but eventually took the windshield back out, and with some special glue, glued the mounding to the rubber and told me to let it sit overnight. He came back the next day and installed it with the molding staying in place nicely.

I appreciate that info Dirk, but I am not ready to start over yet! Hopefully I'll figure it out;)
