I'll have both...

Years ago, I had a custom made tow bar fitted to my 230SL, in order to haul our Hoby Cat down to the beach. Years later I took my 190SL project to a paint shop and back, a few miles away and then removed the tow bar when the kids were no longer interested in Hoby sailing.
No damage to the Pagoda, except for a few holes in the boot floor, which I had welded up and painted.

The (230) SL on the pic is (was) registered in Esslingen .... close to Stuttgart. :o
But the numberplate is from the old DIN (German Industry Norm) days, without the Euro-Logo on the left
and no H on the numberplate for "historic" car.
Thus, this pic must have been dated from before the mid-1990ies or so ... 8) ;)

It reminds me of this picture. ;D

I have a 230sl, which happens to be db571 red metallic with black top, my car is from Germany, and also has remnants of a tow bar frame.
Coincidentally I have no badges on the boot (230sl nor automatic) which don’t appear from what I can see.
My car was exported from Germany ~1980’s. If I could enlarge the pix to see the interior color and it’s my light antique yellow, it would add to the intrigue. I tried to enlarge the pix to see more detail without success
As they say, you never know...

The car on the trailer appears to be a 1938 Frazer Nash BMW 328.
