Title: Hi from Down Under
Post by: gmwood on July 28, 2005, 03:23:58
Finally managed to buy a 280SL ( 1970) after looking for many months at a lot of cars . It came down to affordability and trying to get something as genuine as possible. The result is a car with good recent history ... trying to trace back as far as possible. It needs some TLC and a few cosmetic updates ...radio to original Becker ...replacement carpets in correct style etc ... Look forward to keeping in touch.   Garry

Hey Garry,

Welcome aboard.

Do you have a data card for your car? it will tell you the original colours (paint and interior), options, key, transmission, engine, axle numbers, etc.

Most things have probably already been discussed by someone. Ask your questions anyway.
The search feature works well.

There are some databases on the homepage of this site that will allow you to work out the month of production of your car from the VIN.
