It saddens me that my VDO clock has finally stopped again after 20 years (had it repaired 20 years ago, points go bad). I think I sent it to a shop in Texas. I know Plato Alto Speedometer does repairs, but has anybody else had recent repairs to their clocks and if so where? Thanks, Bob, in need of repairs, I am sure it’s the points again.

You could North Hollywood Speedometer. https://www.nhspeedometer.com

Try Jeffrey Read in Houston. I think his business is vintage auto locks. He does excellent work. Palo Alto no longer works on the mechanical clocks. They switch them out to quartz movements.
-
Len, thanks. Will give Read a call. Check to see if he has a web site.

Can’t find a web Site to get his number. Anyone got his contact info?

Just to add for future referance for any uk members.
We currently have our 67 250sl VDO speedo being rebuilt, told it has a missing shaft and some worn cogs/wheels.
Ryan is cutting new wheels and sourced oem missing parts.
His website is here https://ryanlinleyrestoration.co.uk/

Stone, this shop's proprietor, is a MB guy and is very familiar w the VDO instruments and their foibles.
I believe he's relocated to MT, so I would contact him via his site and go from there. Good luck.

My brother in law cleaned and repaired my 230SL clock(He’s the mechanic in our family). He found a faulty diode and he replaced it. The clock now runs perfect.
