Title: Soft Top stored long time.
Post by: MikeSimon on June 10, 2024, 12:51:14
After almost 30 years parked this way, we finally took the hard top off the 280 and put it on a stand. Much to my surprise, the softtop which has spent that time in the compartment came out in really good shape and still fit nicely and gave me no issues fixing it into position.

How was the plastic window?  When stored, did you have anything around or in-between the window?

I had a towel in the window. It looks perfectly fine for being 40 years old. The top was replaced in 1984.

Clearly MB had you in mind when they introduced the California Coupe! 30 years with the hard top on, wow.
I think my hard top has not been on for almost as long ...

;D ;D Cees: The car was parked for 30 years due to a running problem. I am just getting it going again right now.
