Hello All,
I think I may have been using the wrong oil filter on my M130-985. The spin-on type housing I have in service came off of a spare engine
I acquired to cannibalize parts from. I swapped it onto my engine a long time ago. All the OEM parts apparently do not have this spin-on feature.
Now I am having trouble verifying the correct filter for it. Cross reference charts assume that you are starting with the correct one in the first place. I do not have that confidence. I have been running a Mann 712/6 but it seems to be kind of small compared to the images I have been seeing.
Can any of you weigh in on which model Mann, Bosch (or US manufacturer) I should be using?
Thanks in advance,
Larry in CA

Hi Larry,
The only spin on filter I’ve ever heard about for our cars is using the adapter made by the 190 SL group. There has been some discussion about it over the years here. Our member Jim Billerdwas the one who worked on it. As I recall, it did use a fairly small spin on filter that may have been from a Nissan?

Small correction, Michael, the member's name is Jim Villers. Jim is still a full member of this group, although he's posted very infrequently the last couple of years.

Autocorrect. Sometimes I enter things correctly and as that return key is hit (mostly on posts made on a phone) “Siri” makes the change. I’ve known Jim Villers for many years.
