Title: Alignment Tool
Post by: MP on May 12, 2024, 12:00:00
In the Tec manual it gives three sets of measurements for the rear axle alignment tool, which is correct?

What are you talking about? Can you be more specific?

Yes, although the totals are the same 877mm, three different offsets are given.
453/424.     460/417.    466/411.

The sketch for the alignment tool gives you the dimension to the pivot point of the axle, which is the one you are interested in, because that's the one you line up your tool to. The dimension to the center line of the chassis is of no real use for alignment purposes (if you are using the described alignment tool.

Hi Dirk, I don't think I understand what you are saying, if the left and right sizes of the cross bar are changed doesn't that move the pointer left or right at the axle.
Maurice.

When I did my tool I assumed one set of dimensions, 460 and 417.

The other drawing is chassis points measurements, not the tool measurements.

The third set of numbers I thought was a typo.

I don't know if it has been done but I used  15mm to 28mm connectors, they have a 25mm inside diameter which fits snugly over the nuts.

There you go. Make sure you set up the support arm properly (perpendicularity and distance) prior to installation.

Have done that, thanks Dirk.
