With reference to the photo of the "spare gas can" in the Technical Manual (see photo), can someone please post a photo of one of these these containers in situ, when they have time?
Much appreciated.

Hi,
as far as I know, there were no such canisters for the Pagoda. However, it fits as long as you have a corresponding, extended fastening screw ('wing screw in screw' with the appropriate thread, there were also different ones, M12 vs. M8), the same as the pouring pipe. Colour and fils also match.
Att. my adaptation in the 280SL.

This is mine, can be a bit tight to get under spare wheel flap, but fits really well.

Are these still available and, if so, what are the part numbers for the container and the securing hardware?

These cans were made by the Bellino company to fit several MB cars (W124 W126 W201 W202 W210) wheels with 7 liters volume (and also for BMW with 6 liters volume).
Part number B67580038.
You can still find them on eBay in all shades of appearance, banged up or with few scratches.
Here is a current auction: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/276451781771
and a fixed price one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/115777544176

That's great Dave, thanks.
I have found a couple on eBay but they're too expensive at the moment.

Hi Jim, they do make good money. I bought mine years ago for a w124 I had, I think I paid £60, which at the time I thought was a lot.
