I was interested in finding someone that could help me find out more information about a Mercedes I own. It is a 1963 230 sl. It needs some work. My ex husband is wanting to buy it from me for $2000. I am confused as to whether to sell it to him or not, as I have so little car savey and it has been sitting for over 10 years.
I would appreciate anyone with any kind of information.

We have a member in Bosie, where in Idaho are you?
$2,000 sounds like very little money. Are holes rusted through the car? Is the engine and trasmission still in it?

Cheryl,
These cars can go for anywhere from $500 to $75K+, so it's impossible to say whether your ex-husband's offer is a fair one. You have to tell us more about its condition and history. The VIN would be very interesting since it's an early one. Perhaps someone here even knows the vehicle already.
I think I speak for everyone here when I say we're all very curious about what you have.

I'll give you $2,500 for it. :) :)

I don't care how bad this car is, $2,000 is way too low. Even real junck sells for $5,000 and for $10,000 a car will be quite rough. Can you post some pics?

Hi and Thank you, everyone for your replies and help. I have had this car sitting for several years and I felt bad that I did not have the "Know how" to get this auto put all together. I am sure the car was worth more than $2000, but I just hated seeing it go down hill. He picked up the car this weekend. It was sad for me to see it go, but it is gone now. I wished I would have thought to get online and this great web site earlier and try to get some help and information. Thanks again to all of you nice people. Cheryl from Idaho
